Location

Kempley is on the Hereford/ Gloucester border 5 miles north of Newent, 2 miles west of Dymock.Kempley is located roughly in the middle of the triangle formed by Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester, each being some 12-18 miles distant and less than 40 minutes away. Because the M50 runs nearby (Junction 3); we are just 1 hour from Birmingham, Bristol or Cardiff. The A49 and the Roman Road formed by the A417, A4172 and B4215 will bring you to Kempley from Leominster in 45 minutes.

On a smaller scale, Kempley is located in the middle of the triangle formed by Ledbury, Newent and Ross-on-Wye, each being some 5-6 miles distant.

Kempley is some 2 miles from Junction 3 of the M50. When leaving the M50 turn to the north and take the first turn right, past the Ross Golf Course, then follow the signposts. When travelling east away from Wales, turn left when you leave the motorway and you will see the right turn just 50m ahead of you. When travelling west towards Wales, take the first left after the M50 junction, cross the bridge over the M50, pass the eastbound junction and the right hand turn is only 50m ahead.

From Gloucester, take the B4215 towards Newent. At Newent, 100yds past the cross roads with the traffic lights, take the right turn - Horsefair Lane past the ladder works.

From Dymock on the B4215 going north, take the left turn in the middle of the village marked Kempley, 300m past the Beauchamp Arms.

From Much Marcle on the A449, going east, take the right hand turn into the village opposite the post office. After half mile take the right signposted Kempley.

Brown English Heritage signs direct visitors to St. Mary’s from the A 417 north of Dymock.

St Edwards and the Village Hall Teas are 200 yds N. from Kempley Green
